Layout of the Week July 1-6th Selected " Little Miss Sunshine"

Timi is in our Member of the Week this week featuring her layout called "Little Miss Sunshine".

Each week we select a layout from the gallery to be selected as "Layout of the Week". It could be from your gallery that it is chosen.

Design process: I created paper pieces such as fence, grasses and tree branch.

For the fence, I cut strips of patterned paper of about 4 in by 1/2 in (10 pieces), then cut the other end to resemble the pointed end of real-life fences. This served as the vertical posts of the fence. For the horizontal posts, I cut two strips of the same patterned paper, 12 in in lenght and a little narrower than those for the horizontal posts. I laid the 10 horizontal posts then placed the two 12 in strips over them. I used some brads to serve as the "nails".

For the grass, I cut a strip of green paper and made grass-like paper pieces.

For the tree branch, I drew an image of a tree branch on a brown cardstock, then cut following the image. I also made cut-out leaves and adhered these to the branch.

Materials used: patterned papers: Webster Pages, Autumn Leaves, My Little Shoe Box and K and Co; cardstock: Bazzill; alphas: American Crafts and MLS; embellishments: Prima flowers, 7Gypsies clip, button, stickers, butterfly applique, October Afternoon rub-on, Doodlebug Designs brads, AAS crystal conchos, artificial leaf; others: distress ink, abaca fiber, DMC thread, glitter glue

Techniques: Distressing by tearing, using distress tool, crumpling and inking the edges, hand stitiching and paper piecing

Journaling: You brighten everyone's day with your sunny disposition and brightest smiles. You bring smiles to everyone that comes your way.

Card Sketch Bundle-Week July 6-13

A Grandmother's Kisses Never Wash Off

It is difficult living so far away from my grandchildren. My daughters are very good at sending me photographs of their children to keep me updated on their little lives. I have not seen little Jacob since Christmas and he is rolling over, sitting, up, scooting and has his first tooth. If I could have ONE wish I wish I would be back in Denver close to my grandchildren.

This layout features my youngest grandson, Jacob who is 6 months old. I love the primary and bright colors in this photo, so I worked with the hues of Red and Green for the paint. I cut a 4" heart using the Cricut machine and painted the right side with one color and the left side of the heart with the 2nd color. Lifting up the heart die cut I then had the outline of heart with the paint splashed/painted around the edges. I used torn cardboard box for dimension and die cut the hearts and letters using the Cricut Machine. Buttons, Thread, and Dimensional Embellishment was added. Since I had only one photo of Jacob, I used my Photo program and made cropped photos of the same pose and printed it off. The angles the photos are placed gives the photo a different look in each one even though it is the same picture. I really like how thise turned out.

Patricia is in our Member of the Week this week featuring her layout called "In the Wind". A little more about Patrica
Interests
scrapbooking, randonnée, musique
Are you a beginner, intermediate or seasoned scrapper, crafter or stamper?
i scrap for 4 years, all the days..presentation.I appear a little better... I am French, lives in the region Rhône-Alpes and does not practise very well English thus I use an on-line translator please thus forgive me the possible errors of grammar... I practise the scrap since 2004 and in fact practically every day. My pages are simple generally but I can also make more complicated. I discovered the forum by surfing on Fabienne's site. It isThe first time which I am allowed tempt by an experience(experiment) of this kind(genre). I have no blog and do not participate in no DT even if I had some pages in the newspaper Histoire de Pages. I learns to serve me as my computer to insert photos of my pages and I pal as soon as I arrive there. I am satisfied to make this new experience.

Each week we select a layout from the gallery to be selected as "Layout of the Week". It could be from your gallery that it is chosen.
